For a BSc thesis we expect a survey of the important results in a simple aspect of the problem.

For a TDK submission we expect a deep understanding or reinterpretation of an aspect of the problem.

For a PhD thesis we expect an active push in a direction or a radically new reinterpretation of a larger area.
